There are 8 Mill retail stores throughout Maryland and southern Pennsylvania that offer products for farms, home & garden and pet & wildlife. We have an agronomy division that provides consulting, products and application services to crop land. With a fleet of trucks, we offer delivery to Mid-Atlantic homes and farms. Our Retail Team

Our Retail Team Members are responsible for assisting customers with their purchases of feed, seed, and supplies for their farms, horses, livestock, pets, wildlife, lawns, and gardens. Exceptional customer service skills, product knowledge, and the ability to multitask are important for this position. Friendly, positive team members want to learn and grow in their knowledge and ability to help customers are valuable to The Mill.

Warehouse & Delivery Positions

The Mill has 8 Warehouse locations to support the retail stores and crop teams. Warehouse teams help load and unload trucks and customer cars, restock the stores and help with inventory control and facility maintenance. A fleet of box trucks delivers daily transfers between stores and to farms and homes in the surrounding counties. A moffett truck delivers pallets and large fencing orders, and bulk trucks deliver stone, soil and mulch to nearby areas. The Mill warehouse and delivery teams are important to our logistics and promptly serving customers. Excellent customer service carries through from loading customer's cars do delivery of their products to their doorstep.

Agronomy Team

Agronomy Team Positions include agronomists who provide consulting and sales to area farmers. A team of applicators who operate the Mill equipment to apply liquid and dry products to fields, plant operators who blend fertilizer and custom liquid formulas, a precision ag data mangement team and summer agronomy intern positions to allow college students interested in learning more about crop management and precision ag data management to gain experience in supporting our crop division.

Job Description: Custom Applicator

The Mill is seeking an experienced agricultural applicator with equipment mechanical abilities preferred for our team in White Hall, Maryland. The Custom Applicator is responsible for correctly customizing and applying dry fertilizer and pesticides to our customers’ fields and operating all applicator equipment, including performing maintenance on the equipment.

The Mill is an independent, family-owned, full-service agronomy center. We carry a large variety of crop seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides, as well as provide a suite of agronomic services including custom application, precision ag technology, and agronomic consulting.

Responsibilities

  • Mixing, loading, and application of crop protection products and plant nutrition
  • Ability to understand the chemistry and requirements of plant protection labels
  • Record daily application records
  • Assisting the sales team in evaluating field conditions
  • Perform and schedule maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on the following types of equipment: agriculture sprayers, agriculture fertilizer spreaders, farm implements, CDL trucks, wheel loaders, and forklifts
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work
  • Arrange for the transport of equipment that needs extensive repair to the nearest appropriate facility and coordinate repairs when needed
  • Maintain equipment records of maintenance and repair
  • Consult equipment operating manuals and blueprints
  • Identify part and maintenance suppliers as needed and to achieve cost savings
  • Maintain shop and equipment supplies for unscheduled repairs and maintenance
  • Work with management on allocating equipment repair and maintenance tasks for other employees
  • Handle and deliver bulk and packaged materials, seed and other agriculture inputs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills

  • Agricultural/farming background helpful
  • Large equipment experience
  • Engine, hydraulic systems, and general equipment repair and diagnostic experience
  • Personnel management experience
  • DOT and CDL certification with driving experience preferred, or ability to attain once hired
  • Welding proficiency
  • Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software
  • Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations
  • Microsoft Office

Warehouse associates help load and unload trucks and customer's cars. Product inventory, restocking the retail store and customer deliveries may be part of the responsibilities of this position. Must be customer service oriented and able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs. Must have transportation and a clean driving record.

We are seeking a Full-time Retail Associate

Retail Team Members are responsible for assisting customers with their purchases of feed, seed, and supplies for their farms, horses, livestock, pets, wildlife, lawns, and gardens. Customer service skills, product knowledge, and the ability to multitask are important for this position.

We are seeking reliable and professional non-CDL Delivery Drivers to join our team. This role is essential for transporting products directly to customers’ farms and homes. The ideal candidate will prioritize safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.



We are seeking a full-time Warehouse Associate.

We are seeking a part-time Retail Associate. Must be available Saturdays and occasional evenings.
