Equine Nutrition Consulting

Supporting your horse’s health starts with a clear, well-balanced nutrition plan. Without proper dietary management, horses can struggle with issues such as weight loss, poor coat quality, inconsistent energy levels, and digestive challenges. For horses with metabolic conditions like EMS, insulin resistance or Cushing’s, the risks are even greater, making targeted nutritional strategies essential. The Mill’s Equine Nutrition Consulting Service helps take the guesswork out of feeding by providing expert, individualized guidance built around your horse’s specific needs.

Enhance Your Horse's Diet for Optimal Nutrition

Hay Testing

To maintain a happy horse with a healthy gut, the average horse must consume 1.5-3% of its body weight in forage a day. Thus, the foundation to any equine diet starts with a quality forage program. Whether you grow your own hay or purchase elsewhere, it is crucial to know the details of that foundation in order to develop the appropriate feed program to fit the needs of your horse(s).

We recognize and encourages the vital importance of this information and offers 2 different testing options. While the Complimentary Hay Testing is only offered in the fall, the Lab Analyzed Hay Testing is available year round.

Empowering Equine Wellness Through Precision Parasite Control

Fecal Egg Counting

Fecal Egg Counting is a test that is performed to determine your horse’s parasite load. Knowing this information is very helpful for proper worming management. By identifying your horse’s individual parasite load and determining the high shedders in your herd, you may be able to prevent future health issues and save yourself time, money and frustration.
