Job Description: Spray Drone Pilot and Custom Applicator
The Mill is seeking an experienced agriculture applicator and spray drone pilot for our team in White Hall, MD. The Custom Applicator is responsible for both applying
pesticides and materials through agricultural drones as well as through ground
rig sprayers and spreaders. The Customer Applicator is responsible for
application as well as performing maintenance on the equipment.
The Mill is an independent, family-owned, full-service agronomy center. We carry a large variety of crop seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides, as well as provide a suite
of agronomic services including custom application, precision ag technology,
and agronomic consulting.

Responsibilities
- Piloting
agricultural drones for spraying and spreading products over crops - Facilitating new business opportunities in the agricultural drone space
- Operating large agricultural equipment including sprayers and fertilizer spreaders
- Mixing, loading, and application of crop protection products and plant nutrition
- Ability to understand the chemistry and requirements of plant protection labels
- Record daily application records
- Assisting the sales team in evaluating field conditions
- Perform and schedule maintenance, diagnostic, and repairs on the following types of equipment: agriculture sprayers, agriculture fertilizer spreaders, farm implements
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work
- Maintain equipment records of maintenance and repair
- Consult equipment operating manuals and blueprints
- Handle and deliver bulk and packaged materials, seed, and other agricultural inputs
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills
- Part 107 license
- Pesticide applicators license
- Agricultural/farming background
- Large equipment experience
- Engine, hydraulic systems, and general equipment repair and diagnostic experience
- Personnel management experience
- DOT and CDL certification with driving experience preferred, or ability to
attain once hired - Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations
- Microsoft Office
- Basic math skills
