Early Bale Preservatives for Hay and Ensilage

Propionic Acid is for hay over 18% moisture or silage crops.  

Available in 5 gallon bucket, 55 gallon drum and 2000# Tote.

Drops pH quickly to stabilize fresh cut hay and ensilage.  Prevents heating and secondary cellular respiration which are favorable to mold and yeast growth.  Reduces mycotoxin formation after harvest.

• Early Bale Plus is formulated to contain the maximum propionic acid content in a buffered form (68%).
• User friendly by being buffered to pH 5.9 œ 6.0 and is therefore gentler on the skin.
• Equipment friendly by being less corrosive on painted metal.
• Animal friendly since treated hay is safe for all livestock including beef and dairy cattle, horses, sheep, and goats.

Early Bale Plus œ Liquid Hay Preservative

Description: A buffered propionic acid based liquid preservative for achieving control of spoilage yeasts and molds in animal feeding stuffs.

Contains 68% propionic acid. Function: Effective treatment controls heating and spoilage of feed caused by the growth of yeasts and molds. This control results in the stabilization and preservation of processed, cubed, pelleted or baled hay, processed livestock feeds, silages and high moisture grains.

Application: Apply to feed at the time of processing at the rates given below.

Accurate determination of moisture content at the time of treatment is necessary for proper application and maximum protection. Failure to properly apply the product may result in heating and spoilage. High levels of mold contamination may require higher levels of treatment.

• Early Bale Plus can be successfully used on silage crops in the 50-70% m.c. range. For silage at 50-59% m.c., use 1lb/Ton. For silage at 60-70% m.c., use 2lb/Ton.
• Early Bale Plus can be successfully used on high moisture corn at 3lb. per ton

Ingredients: Propionic acid, ammonium hydroxide, ammonium propionate salts, water and certified color. Storage: Store in a dry place out of direct sunlight. Avoid freezing.

Shelf Life: Use within 1 year of date of manufacture.
