Sunglo Prestarter Mecadox: the first stage in the Sunglo starter lineup
Sunglo Prestarter encourages feed intake and helps with a smooth transition from sow’s milk to dry feed. The 25% protein, palatable, ultra-small pellet can be fed as a creep feed, then for up to 5 to 10 days post-weaning before moving to the next starter feed. Prestarter contains plasma, lactose and milk proteins that are critical for young pigs immediately after weaning. Medicated with Mecadox. Feed 1 bag per litter or approximately 3 to 4 lbs per pig.
Sunglo Starter: A 22% protein starter fed after Sunglo Prestarter
Sunglo Starter offers an aggressive approach to maximize sale-ready bloom in pigs weighing between 25 and 50 lbs. Adjust how long Starter is fed based on skeletal growth and muscle development, as genetics allow. Available as pellets (medicated with Mecadox) or in meal form (medicated with Denagard).
Sunglo 803: The third step in the show pig starter program
Sunglo 803 is a 19% protein, user friendly starter feed that maximizes sale-ready bloom. Offering an expanded feeding window, Sunglo 803 is best utilized in pigs between 25 and 75 lbs. It is available in pelleted or meal form, both medicated with Denagard. Sunglo 803 can be mixed 50:50 with 18-G or 16-G when transitioning pigs to the next step grower feed, rather than going directly from 803 to 18-G or 16-G.
Beyond the starter phase, feeders also find success when blending Sunglo 803 or 800 (800 is nonmedicated, but same formula as 803 with Denagard) with 18-G or 16-G in bigger hogs to enhance freshness or bulk prior to jackpotting or hitting their target show.
Sunglo Sector 2 Complete: A 20% economical show pig option
Sector 2 meal is designed for pigs weighing between 30 and 70 lbs, or it can be fed to pigs up to 100 lbs if genetics allow. Sector 2 is a palatable, high quality grower/developer feed that is lower cost than Starter and 803. Sector 2 Meal is medicated with Denagard.
For pigs 30 to 75 lbs body weight
Suggested for at least the first 10 days to 2 weeks after arrival at new home
Sunglo 803: available in ground meal or pellet form
- Premium palatable starter-grower for pigs from 30 to 70 lbs (can be fed to pigs up to as heavy as 100 lbs.)
- Maximizes bloom and muscle development in young pigs
- Medicated with Denagard for control of swine dysentery and ileitis
Â
Sunglo Sector 2 Complete: ground meal feed
- Economical yet palatable starter-grower for pigs from 30 to 75 lbs (can be fed to pigs up to as heavy as 100 lbs). A feed that pigs will still grow and develop well on but at a lower cost than 803.
- Medicated with Denagard for control of swine dysentery and ileitis
For pigs from a minimum of 50 lbs.
Switch to these no later than 75 lbs or 10 days to 2 weeks after getting them home from the breeder.
Sunglo G-Line 18-G or 16-G: non-medicated ground meal feeds
- Start pigs from 50 to 75 lbs bodyweight; can feed these up to show weight
-
These palatable feeds work for most genetics, allowing pigs to grow, develop muscle and mass, and perform
well. Use 18-G for muscle mass and growth. Use 16-G to add condition and calm muscle shape. -
Once pigs reach 100lbs + bodyweight, our Mill show feeds consultants can visit with you, look at your pigs,
and develop a feeding program to meet your goals based on genetics, maturity, and style of pigs you’re feeding.
