It makes a mess

It makes a mess. The "flow valve" doesn't effectively block the water as you fill it up, and it makes a mess as you try to fill the water reservoir faster than it drains out. The drinking dish gets quite dirty from the chickens--though it doesn't get as dirty as it would if it were on the ground--but the entire waterer can't easily be moved because the handle is on the water reservoir which is not attachable to the base.
